2. Retreat Savings Program: Our 2016 All-Church Retreat is only nine months away! We do not have dates or a location finalized yet, but stay tuned, as those details will be coming soon...

To ensure that as many people as possible are able to attend the retreat, we will be relaunching our Retreat Savings Program during the last week in August. Everyone who plans to attend the retreat is encouraged to participate in this program so that we can cheer one another on and reach our savings goals together.* (Participation is required in order to qualify for partial scholarships.)

If you are in a Home Fellowship, your HF leader will share more details about the program and collect savings contributions each week. If you are not in a Home Fellowship, you may bring your contributions to church on designated Sundays. Our first RSP collection Sunday will be on August 30. Contact Alexis Spencer-Byers (admin@redeemerla.org415-926-1066) for more information.

* If it turns out you are unable to attend the retreat, your savings deposits will be returned to you (in full if you cancel before the registration deadline; all but your registration fee if you cancel after the registration deadline).

3. New Testament Read-Through: Just a reminder--we are continuing to read our way through the New Testament, wrapping up 2 Corinthians tomorrow and moving on to Galatians on Monday. If you haven't been participating in the read-through, it's not too late to join in! Reading guides can be picked up at the Hospitality Table at church or downloaded here. (If you have been participating, congratulations on completing the "I" and most of the "D"!)

4. Membership Class Sign-Ups: Membership classes will be offered this fall in English and Spanish. If you are interested in learning about becoming a member of Church of the Redeemer, please sign up at the Hospitality Table on Sunday morning or contact Alexis Spencer-Byers (admin@redeemerla.org415-926-1066) for more information. Please note:

**Participating in the membership class does not mean you are committing to become a member of the church; part of the class process is discerning whether membership in Redeemer is the right thing for you at this time.

  1.  Worship Team Interest Meeting - Sunday, July 19, AFTER Service: The COR Worship Team is currently seeking to recruit any interested church members to join the worship team! If you have a passion for singing, making music, or just worshipping the Lord by waving your hands in the air (like you just don't care) then there will be a SHORT informational meeting on Sunday, July 19, after church in the back patio area. A light snack will be provided. Please connect with Tony for more information.

  2. World Impact West Coast Siafu Men's Retreat: The men in our congregation have been invited to attend World Impact's West Coast Siafu Men's Retreat at The Oaks Camp and Conference Center on September 18-20.

The theme for this year's retreat is "Unwavering Warriors with an Unshakable Kingdom."

Below is a short write-up on the retreat:

"The enemy of the kingdom of God has bound men to the pleasures and concerns of this world. Men have lost sight of the unshakable kingdom. The return of the king is inevitable though. This present world will be shaken to the core and what's really real, the true eternal kingdom of God, now invisible, will become visible. Righteousness, peace, and joy will rule in the kingdom. Until that day, the captain of the Lord's army is calling men to engage the forces of darkness and the cares of this world. These warriors carry a shield whose inner core is one of honor. Their life is one of rugged sacrifice and uncompromising vigilance. These are the unwavering warriors who fight with valor for the expansion and advancement of the unshakable kingdom."
