 1. Easter Worship & Fellowship Opportunities: A sunrise service will be held at the Parks house (2706 Brighton Ave., 90007) at 5:30 am on Easter Sunday--March 27--to celebrate Christ's resurrection!

 
Then, please join us for a special breakfast potluck at 8:45 am at John Mack Elementary before our regular Sunday worship service. Sign up here if you are able to bring a food or beverage item to share. You can also sign up at the Hospitality Table on Sunday or with your home fellowship leader. Whether or not you are bringing a dish, we hope you will participate in this time of food & fellowship! 2. March is Juvenile Justice Month of Faith and Healing (JJMFH)! Church of the Redeemer will be participating in JJMFH by having speakers from the Healing Justice Coalition share with us about youth detention ministry, advocacy efforts, and other ways people of faith can serve those who are affected by the criminal justice system.
 
Please join us on Tuesday, March 22, from 7:00-9:00 PM, at Adventures Ahead to be part of the conversation and to learn about opportunities to participate in local ministry and advocacy projects. For more information, contact Alexis. Thanks!

 
 
3. Vacation Bible School: Please save the date! VBS will be held July 25-29, 2016. This will be a great outreach to our young neighbors as they gear up to head back to school for a new academic year. Please be in prayer about how you would like to serve. You can sign up by clicking this link or signing up at the lunch benches with Christal Green following service on Sunday. 4. 2016 All-Church Retreat: Please note the following key dates and other information about our upcoming church retreat/family camp...
  • Dates: Friday, May 27 - Sunday, May 29
  • Location: The Oaks Camp and Conference Center (Lake Hughes, CA)
  • Cost: $145 for adults and teens (13-17), $115 for children (3-12), free for infants (0-2) (these costs include registration fees of $40 per adult or $20 per teen/child)
  • Scholarship assistance is available for those who have been participating in the Retreat Savings Program (RSP) (**Note: The RSP participation requirement does not apply to those who have been at Redeemer for less than a year)
  • Registration and scholarship application processes begin this Sunday, 3/13 (scholarships awarded on a first-come, first-served basis / registration fees must be paid at time of registration, unless the fee amount has already been saved through the RSP). Visit the retreat table at the back of the sanctuary after Sunday service to register for the retreat, fill out a scholarship application, and/or make a retreat savings program deposit.
  • Registration deadline: Sunday 5/15

  • A group will be meeting on Sunday mornings at 9:15 am at Mack Elementary (courtyard picnic tables) to pray together during the remainder of Lent. All are welcome! For more information, contact Jen R.
  • Come join us for Worship - Prayer - Hearing from God - Interceding for our Church: God loves to spend time with us and share His heart with us.  1. Make Jefferson Beautiful Community Meeting - part 2! Make Jefferson Beautiful is excited to share PART TWO of our Community Visioning Meeting to make Jefferson Blvd a beautiful, safe, and activating street for folks to walk and bike along. This second meeting will be held this Saturday, March 5, at 10 am, at the Denker Recreation Center.

 
Our first Make Jefferson Beautiful meeting identified bike lanes and street trees as the top two street improvements that will encourage more active transportation along Jefferson Blvd. We've already started planting trees (with more to come!), and we finally have LADOT engineering drawings for bike lane possibilities along Jefferson. We will be sharing and discussing these bike lane possibilities, their trade-offs, and other built environment improvements like sidewalk extensions and pedestrian lighting.

 140 Days of Prayer and Fasting: The theme for this year is Unplugged - Making Space for God. We are exploring some new spiritual disciplines (like taking a break from technology) while we spend time reflecting on the source of Jesus' strength. If you don't already have a copy of the Prayer Guide, you can pick one up at the hospitality table this Sunday or download an online version here (available in English and Spanish).

4. RCP Health Survey Study: RCP needs help administering health surveys to folks who live around the Jefferson Drill Site! This is part of a larger study we are conducting in partnership with Occidental College and UC Berkeley. We can pay $15/hour and highly encourage bilingual folks to help out. We will be surveying from 9:30am-2pm on Feb 27th and 28th. Come help for however long you can on whichever days you're available. Niki will be providing training and materials to conduct the surveys.
